According to French publication L’Equipe, Lyon have reached an agreement with Tottenham Hotspur to sign Giovani Lo Celso on a loan deal until the end of the season.
The writing appeared to be on the wall for Lo Celso after he was left out of Tottenham’s matchday squad against Chelsea last week.
According to reports, Antonio Conte has grown weary of the Argentine’s inability to follow instructions to the level required (The Independent).
Sevilla (Football.London) and Real Betis (AS via Sport Witness) have both been credited with an interest in Lo Celso while Fiorentina were said to have rejected the chance to sign the midfielder as part of a deal to bring Sofyan Amrabat to Spurs (Alfredo Pedulla).
It emerged on Friday that Lyon had entered into negotiations with Tottenham over a loan deal for the 25-year-old until the end of the season (Fabrizio Romano).
L’Equipe have now revealed that the Ligue 1 club have reached an agreement over a loan deal for Lo Celso, but do not have an option to buy him at the end of the season.
The report adds that Lyon will pay half of the midfielder’s salary should the move go ahead.
Both clubs are now said to be waiting for the green light from the player to push ahead with the deal.

Hopefully, Lo Celso’s impending exit (potentially followed by Tanguy’s), allows Spurs to pull the trigger on some new signings. There is not a lot of time left to go in the window but I am still hopeful that the club will bring at least two new players in through the door.
