Report: Spurs reach out to Real Madrid superstar’s representatives – Not Gareth Bale

According to a report from 90min, Tottenham are one of many clubs around Europe to have reached out to Sergio Ramos’ representatives about the possibility of a transfer, with the Real Madrid legend currently in the final year of his contract at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Ramos is one of the most decorated stars in Real Madrid’s illustrious history, having won five La Liga titles, two Copas del Rey and four Champions League trophies in the Spanish capital.

The central defender still seems to be going strong at 34 years of age but the report reveals that talks of a renewal are still on-going with the Real Madrid hierarchy, with no agreement reached as of yet.

Spurs will have a massive battle on their hands to convince the World Cup winner to come to North London as all of the other members of the Premier League’s ‘big six’ are also said to have also made contact with Ramos’ entourage.

It is claimed that the centre-back is keeping his options open and has not ruled out the possibility of signing a one-year extension at Real Madrid and leaving in the summer of 2022.

It is suggested that he is also considering offers from Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Japan, while Paris Saint-Germain and David Beckham’s Inter Miami are also keen on landing him if he is to leave the Spanish capital.

Spurs Web Opinion

The recent links with the likes of Sergio Ramos and Jerome Boateng suggest that Jose wants to add some experience and know-how to our backline. Perhaps the Spurs boss views these experienced winners as ideal examples for the likes of Joe Rodon and Japhet Tanganga to look up to and learn from.
