Report: Spurs reach verbal agreement over transfer; player set to head to London

Tottenham Hotspur and Sporting Lisbon have reached a verbal agreement for the transfer of Pedro Porro, according to Spanish news outlet AS.

The report claims that a deadlock has been broken in the negotiations between the two parties for the Spanish international after a number of days of talks in Lisbon.

Porro is currently in action for Ruben Amorim’s side in their Portuguese League Cup final against FC Porto this evening and will travel to London in the hours ahead if Sporting keep to their word.

Tottenham will now expect Sporting to rubber stamp the agreement to allow Porro to head to north London, where he has already agreed a contract until 2028 with Antonio Conte’s side.

The latest developments come after the Daily Mail reported earlier that the deal was in doubt after both clubs were struggling to agree the financial structure of the deal.

After many twists and turns over the past few days, Tottenham fans will certainly be glad to get this deal over the line and add an extra dimension to the right flank, given Porro’s ability to create plenty of chances for attackers.
