Report: Spurs ‘ready to get serious’ about signing Serie A striker – Preparing a bid

Tottenham Hotspur may finally be ready to make a move to sign a direct replacement for Harry Kane, and the latest report suggests Juventus striker, Dusan Vlahovic, is the target.

When Harry Kane departed for Bayern Munich in the summer, many suspected Spurs would be irrevocably damaged.

However, Ange Postecoglou put faith in Heung-min Son to lead the line for the Lilywhites, and the Tottenham skipper has not let him down. The 31-year-old now has nine goals to his name this season (Transfermarkt) and shows no signs of slowing down.

In fact, Spurs’ reluctance to sign a big-name striker in the summer is now looking like the right decision. Still, as much as Postecoglou trusts Son to play in that forward role, the Australian is expected to look to sign a new striker, too (Football.London).

Spurs want to sign Dusan Vlahovic

Quite who that striker will be remains to be seen, but Spurs are known to hold an interest in Juventus striker, Dusan Vlahovic (CaughtOffside).

Now, the latest from TV Play suggests the North London outfit are preparing to make their move for the Serbian attacker.

It is thought Tottenham are now “ready to get serious” about their pursuit of Vlahovic, and they see the 23-year-old as the “ideal” fit for Postecoglou’s system.

Apparently, Spurs are planning to make a “mind-boggling” offer for Vlahovic, both in terms of the transfer fee to Juventus and the contract for the player. The Italian side could receive an offer of around €80m (£68.6m), and Vlahovic himself may be in line for a €15m per year.

With such “monstrous” figures likely to be on the table, it is now thought Juventus are “trembling” with fear that they will lose their asset.

Spurs Web Opinion

I know Vlahovic hasn’t quite achieved what many thought he would at Juventus, but I’m still a big fan, and I think within the right system he would flourish. I’d be happy to see him sign for Spurs.
