Report: Spurs ready to include midfielder in deal for West Ham player

Tottenham Hotspur hold an interest in bringing West Ham United midfielder Declan Rice to North London this summer, according to a report by 90min.

Rice has done well since breaking into the Hammers first team three years ago and has gone on to impress for both club and country.

The Sun claim that West Ham are open to selling Rice to raise transfer funds this summer even though David Moyes would prefer to keep the midfielder. The report claims ‘nobody is safe’ from the summer overhaul at the London Stadium.

This suggestion is consistent with a report by TEAMtalk from the start of the month which claimed the Hammers are also open to selling rumoured Spurs target Issa Diop in order to generate transfer funds.

It has been claimed that Rice could be allowed to leave East London for around £70 million this summer (Guardian).

90min report that Tottenham still hold a keen interest in the West Ham star and could move for him when the transfer window opens.

They also claim that the Lilywhites are willing to use Eric Dier as a makeweight in the deal to bring Rice to North London.

Spurs Web Opinion

I do not believe that Rice is worth anywhere around £70 million in the current market and I cannot see Jose Mourinho willing to allow Dier leave this summer.

I expect the 26-year-old to be part of our first-choice centre back pairing next season.
