Report: Spurs ready to meet asking price for incredible Dembele replacement

Tottenham Hotspur have failed to sign a new player in around 15 months, but fans may be excited by the latest report out of French outlet Le 10 Sport.

The report claims that Tottenham are now willing to meet the asking price for highly-rated defensive midfield star Tanguy N’dombele.

It also claims that Pochettino has sweetened the potential deal by promising first team football, something no other team has been able to do.

The powerhouse has impressed this season, especially in Lyon’s win over Man City in the Champions League, and could be Spurs’ perfect replacement for Mousa Dembele.

Spurs have been linked with the midfielder all throughout the season, and the likes of Man United, Man City, and Juventus are all also said to be interested (Metro).

Lyon are said to want around £64m for the 22-year-old, but that could end up looking like a bargain in a few years’ time.

Spurs Web Opinion:

I have said it for a while that N’dombele would be my dream signing in terms of a Mousa Dembele replacement. The times I have seen the young man play have been incredible. He is fast, strong, good on the ball, can drive through midfield, and looks to be the full package. Spurs could do with that extra muscle in midfield, especially with the injuries they have had this season. In my view, £65m seems a fair price, and I would be surprised if he doesn’t show his worth wherever he ends up.
