Report: Spurs ready to offer first-team player a pay rise in ‘bumper new deal’

Football Insider have claimed that Tottenham Hotspur are ready to offer Son Heung-min a ‘huge’ new contract and the South Korean is currently happy at the club.

Last week, we relayed a report from The Telegraph which claimed that although Son’s current contract at Spurs runs out in 2025, Spurs have the option to extend it by one year.

The report added that the North London London club are expected to take up that option in order to avoid a repeat of the Harry Kane saga next summer.

Meanwhile, 90 min suggested a few days ago that Tottenham are now set to offer the 31-year-old a long-term deal as they are ‘determined’ to tie down their star man.

Heung-min Son keen to be part of the Spurs project

Football Insider have now become the latest outlet to report on Tottenham’s plans to offer a bumper pay rise to Son despite their rigid wage structure.

The report adds that the South Korean is happy to remain in N17. He is said to be ‘thrilled’ with the impact Ange Postecoglou has made and ‘keen’ on being a part of the Australian’s project.

Spurs Web Opinion

Son seems to be relishing the task of being the leader and the main man in the current Tottenham team following the departure of Harry Kane. I expect the Spurs hierarchy to act swiftly and tie him down to a long-term deal within the next couple of months.
