Report: Spurs ‘ready to steal’ talented 22-year-old from under Arsenal’s noses

While Tottenham have already shattered their transfer record this summer to sign one of the most sought after midfielders in Europe in Tanguy Ndombele.

Tottenham’s North London rivals Arsenal reportedly have a limited transfer budget this summer that is making it difficult for them to sign their targets (The Express).

Both Arsenal and Tottenham were said to be in for Real Madrid midfielder Dani Ceballos but the Lilywhites reportedly pulled out of the deal as the loan deal did not come with an option to buy (The Mirror).

Now, according to a report in The Sun, Spurs are ready to hijack another one of Arsenal’s main target’s this summer – Celtic left-back Kieran Tierney.

The report suggests that if the Gunners fail to stump up £25m transfer fee for the Scottish international soon, Spurs are primed to take advantage of the situation.

The Scotsman reports that Spurs have identified Tierney as a possible replacement for Danny Rose, who is said to be on his way out of the club.

The report in The Sun suggests that while Ryan Sessegnon is still a target for Spurs, they are now also considering Tierney given the volume of interest in the Fulham man.

It is unclear if there is any truth to this as if Tierney were a target for the club, there is no reason for Spurs and Levy to wait until now knowing all along that he is available for £25m. We think that Sessegnon is likely still Spurs’ priority and that they could have identified Tierney as a potential back up.
