Report: Spurs receive blow in race for Sevilla star Jules Kounde

It has been reported that Sevilla star, Jules Kounde, wants to take a leap in his career this summer and is not in favour of joining Tottenham Hotspur.

It was reported earlier this week by Estadio Deportivo that Tottenham were one of the names on the table for Kounde this summer.

AS have now claimed that Sevilla are under pressure to sell one of their star players this summer in order to fund their own signings (via Sport Witness).

The La Liga outfit apparently expect the fee to be around €70m for the centre-back, with Kounde and Youssef En-Nesyri being earmarked as important potential sales this summer.

Marca report that Tottenham want to propose more realistic negotiations with Sevilla and the Spanish club are willing to sit down and discuss.

However, the problem may come on the player side of things, as Kounde is apparently not too keen on a move to North London.

Spurs Web Opinion:

This one seems more and more like a non-starter by the day. If the player isn’t interested and the money is too high, then Spurs need to move on to their next target. Signings need to happen quickly with pre-season already underway.
