Report: Spurs receive boost in race for Tanguy Ndombele

Tottenham Hotspur may have just received a boost in their pursuit of Lyon powerhouse Tanguy Ndombele, as another interested party have seemingly ducked out of the race.

Spurs have been linked to the French midfielder all season (Sky Sports), and are still looking to replace Mousa Dembele, who was a first-team regular before transferring away in January.

Tanguy Ndombele has impressed with his power, pace, tackling, and driving box-to-box play this season in the French League, and especially in the Champions League.

Gianluca Di Marzio in Italy have suggested that Juventus have reached an £88m agreement with Lazio for the midfielder Milinkovic-Savic.

If this is true, it would seem hugely unlikely that Juve would pay an astronomical fee for two separate midfielders in one transfer window, especially with Aaron Ramsey also on his way (Juventus Website).

A report by Calcio Mercato had listed Juventus as a rival for Ndombele, and Spurs were tipped as the most likely destination for the player, ahead of PSG.

Spurs Web Opinion:

If reports are to be believed, it looks as if Tottenham’s main rivals for Tanguy Ndombele are now PSG. Spurs are unlikely to conduct any official business until after the Champions League final, but I am hoping they go in with a big and early bid for the player soon after. Ndombele would be my one dream signing this summer, as I think he could provide everything Spurs lost through selling Mousa Dembele and more.
