Report: Spurs receive boost in their pursuit of Giovani Lo Celso

Tottenham Hotspur may have just received a boost in their pursuit of Giovani Lo Celso this summer, as Real Betis appear to have lined up a replacement already.

The BBC reported last month that Spurs had tabled a bid of £53m for the Argentine playmaker, but the offer was turned down as it was too far short of the player’s £88m buyout clause.

Sky Sports then reported in July that talks had stalled between Betis and Tottenham due to differences in the clubs’ valuations of the player.

Betis reportedly want £63m for the attacking midfielder this transfer window (Estadio Deportivo).

However, Real Betis may have now hinted towards their intention to sell the player this summer, as reports have emerged that they have lined up a high-profile replacement (Marca).

Le Parisien have gone as far as to indicate that the deal is close between Lyon and Betis, with the later waiting on the sale of Lo Celso.
