The Evening Standard have claimed that Harry Kane is open to signing a new contract with Tottenham Hotspur this summer.
This week, Spurs announced that they had received a cash injection of £150m from their majority shareholder ENIC.
Football.London’s Alasdair Gold reported on Wednesday that the majority of those funds, along with proceeds from player sales, will be handed to Antonio Conte to strengthen the squad this summer.
The journalist added that Kane is delighted at the development and believes that Conte could help him fulfil his ambition of winning silverware at Tottenham.
The Evening Standard have now backed this up, claiming that Kane is excited by Spurs’ progress under Conte and is ‘increasingly hopeful’ that the Italian can help the club win a trophy next season.
The report explains that the England captian, who has two years left on his contract, is yet to hold contract talks with the club and is waiting to discover the outcome of Conte’s crush talks with Fabio Paratici.
However, it is asserted that provided the club back their head coach as planned, Kane is happy to entertain an approach from the club regarding a new contract when he returns for pre-season.
Spurs Web Opinion
From the club sealing Champions League qualification, Conte being backed in the transfer market, to Kane potentially signing a new contract, this week has been the most enjoyable one Spurs fans have had in over three years. There seems to be a feel-good factor around the club once again, which has been missing since 2019.
