Report: Spurs receive clear Conor Gallagher boost after big Chelsea development

HITC report that Chelsea have now decided that they are ready to offload Tottenham target Conor Gallagher when the transfer window opens in June, with the Blues already said to be studying various options to replace their academy graduate.

The speculation over Gallagher’s future continues to rumble on as the midfielder edges closer to the final year of his contract at Stamford Bridge.

Various outlets have reported over the past couple of weeks that Spurs are continuing to show ‘concrete interest’ in the 23-year-old as they are aware that Chelsea need to sell players in the summer in order to comply with the Premier League’s financial rules (Football Insider).

Chelsea are ready to sell Conor Gallagher

Tottenham’s chances of landing the player have been boosted if HITC’s latest update is to be believed, with the outlet now revealing that the West London club are ‘pushing ahead with their plans’ to sell Gallagher.

The report says that even though Mauricio Pochettino wants the England international to stay, Chelsea have not offered him a new contract and are already looking at potential replacements.

Chelsea are thought to be exploring moves for the likes of Newcastle’s Bruno Guimaraes, Borussia Mönchengladbach’s Manu Kone and Nice’s Khephren Thuram as a potential replacement for Gallagher.

Spurs Web Opinion

Three months is a long time in football and a lot can change between now and June. However, as things stand, it does not appear as if Chelsea are overly keen on offering Gallagher a new deal.

One would expect Tottenham to test the waters with an offer for the 23-year-old as soon as the transfer window opens.
