Report: Spurs receive potential boost in race for winger – Bayern Munich not pursuing move

According to Sky Germany, Bayern Munich are not actively pursuing a move for Barcelona winger and alleged Tottenham target Ousmane Dembele.

The 24-year-old, who joined the Blaugrana for around £97 million in 2017, is facing an uncertain future with the Spanish giants having entered the final year of his contract.

The situation means Dembele could find himself as one of the biggest names available on the market in the coming months, with a host of top European clubs likely to be waiting in the wings to secure a coup.

German giants Bayern Munich have been tipped to be one of the sides looking to strike a deal, however, Sky Germany have since revealed the links are not concrete.

Transfer expert Marc Behrenbeck claimed the Bavarian outfit have been tracking Dembele, but the club’s chiefs are stalling on whether he would be an adequate fit for Julian Nagelsmann’s squad.

The news will serve as a boost for Tottenham, with director of football Fabio Paratici reportedly continuing to keep tabs on the Frenchman’s situation.

The Spurs chief allegedly wanted to sign Dembele during his tenure at Juventus and is now prepared to reignite his interest ahead of a potential transfer bombshell while Antonio Conte plans to rebuild his squad.

Spurs Web Opinion

Dembele looks to be one of the biggest names who could be available on the transfer market with his Barcelona career hanging by a thread.

The one caveat is his continued problems with injuries which will be a big red flag for potential suitors. However, he is a world-class talent and that can be a big asset for a club if he does manage to stay fit.
