Report: Spurs receive potential boost in their pursuit of Raul Jimenez

Tottenham Hotspur may have just received a boost in their pursuit of Raul Jimenez, with a report in The Mirror claiming that the striker wants to leave Wolves in the summer.

Jimenez has been one of the most consistent forwards in the Premier League since arriving at the Molineux Stadium and has tormented defences alongside Adama Traore and Diogo Jota this season.

Tottenham have been linked with Jimenez over the past two months with Jose Mourinho said to be a fan of the Mexican international (Daily Star).

The Spurs boss has reportedly been in contact with the former Atletico Madrid star’s family over the possibility of bringing him to North London (Foot Mercato).

TuttoJuve reported last week that the striker could be available for just £18million this summer. The Mirror have now rubbished the £18m price tag and suggested that the striker will cost a lot more.

However, they reveal that Jimenez could leave Wolves as he is keen on securing one final big move. The 29-year-old is said to looking for one last pay-day and it is thus suggested that Nuno Espirito Santo’s side may be forced to cash in on him this summer.

Spurs Web Opinion

While Jimenez potentially being available is positive news, we are unlikely to be able to afford the asking price Wolves are likely to demand. Additionally, it sounds as if the striker is looking for a substantial pay rise and I doubt if he will be able to get that at Spurs.
