Report: Spurs receive potential Sporting Director boost in Luis Campos update

Tottenham may have received a boost in any potential desire to bring Luis Campos to the club after it was reported this morning that the Portuguese scouting mastermind asked Lille to liberate him from his contract.

RMC SPORT have revealed that Campos has told Lille president, Gerard Lopez, that he would like to leave the club. This comes as Campos is said to be unhappy after Lille failed to consult him regarding certain recent strategic decisions.

It is said that Campos does not have a standard contract with Ligue 1 club and that Lille instead have a deal with the company that the 55-year-old works for.

Therefore, Campos is technically a consultant, but he still has three years to run on his contract with the company.

The Lille man is known to be good friends with Jose Mourinho, with reports earlier this year suggesting that he might link up with the Spurs boss in North London (Sky Sports).

Spurs Web Opinion

If it is true that Campos wants to quit Lille, then we should do all we can to bring him to Spurs. It is clear that we have a limited budget this summer and so bringing him in will be invaluable given his knowledge of the French and Portuguese market. One would imagine Jose would be on the phone straight away trying to bring him to Tottenham.
