Report: Spurs remain ‘committed’ to signing winger but face PL competition

Goal have revealed that Tottenham Hotspur are continuing to take steps to land Antonio Nusa this summer but they face competition for the Club Brugge star from London rivals, Chelsea.

Since Tottenham’s failed move for Nusa in January, reports have continued to suggest over the last couple of months that the Lilywhites might go back in for the winger in the summer.

Earlier this month, Voetbalkrant even asserted that the Premier League side had already begun efforts to land the Norwegian starlet and had even ‘started negotiations’ with Club Brugge over the player.

A little over a week ago, HITC also reported on the Lilywhites’ interest in the winger, asserting that he is valued by the Belgian club at around £30m.

Spurs are still looking at Antonio Nusa

Goal have now become the latest outlet to talk up the chance of Nusa exiting Brugge this summer after his switch to Brentford collapsed in the final stages during the January window.

They say that Ange Postecoglou’s men have made ‘committed attempts’ to sign the attacker and have even contacted the Jupiler Pro League side about the youngster.

However, the publication adds that they are not the only ones to do so, with Chelsea also reaching out to Brugge over a summer deal for Nusa.

Spurs Web Opinion

Based on Tottenham’s failed move for Nusa in January, we already know that the club’s hierarchy and Postecoglou are fans of the winger. If Spurs are convinced that the winger’s fitness issues are not a problem, one would expect them to reignite their interest in the 19-year-old.
