Report: Spurs remain keen on 6ft 7″ Bundesliga striker

Tottenham Hotspur still remain interested in signing VfB Stuttgart striker Sasa Kalajdzic during the summer transfer window, according to German news outlet Kicker.

The report claims that the Austrian international is likely to leave the Bundesliga outfit at the end of the season with Kicker suggesting that his exit is ‘apparently imminent’.

The 24-year-old forward is out of contract at the end of next season and has missed the majority of this season with a shoulder injury, having appeared once in the German top flight this season, scoring one goal (transfermarkt).

His overall record for Stuttgart is somewhat respectable, having scored 19 goals in 48 appearances in all competitions since his move from Admira Wacker.

It is claimed that his €20m (£16.5m) valuation is ‘likely to drop by quite a bit’ due to the fact he will be in the last year of his contract come this summer.

Kalajdzic can be used as a target man due to his 6ft 7ins frame and played a crucial role in Stuttgart’s task of achieving a top-half Bundesliga finish last season.\

Tottenham are desperate for another striker and aside from Carlos Vinicius’ loan stint in north London, having lacked a target man since the days of Fernando Llorente.

Currently, Antonio Conte does not have enough options off the bench to be able to change the dynamic of his tactics when behind in a game. In hindsight, maybe the club should have moved for Wout Weghorst who has impressed at Burnley.
