Report: Spurs remain keen on Serie A player who could be signed for £12.8m this summer

Tottenham Hotspur are still actively interested in Juventus’ Samuel Iling-Junior ahead of the summer transfer window, according to a report from Tutto Juve.

The Italian news outlet claim that along with interest from Tottenham, fellow Premier League side Brighton and Hove Albion also remain interested in the 20-year-old.

The England Under-21 international made his debut for the Serie A side last season, scoring once in his twelve league appearances for the Old Lady, however, regular first-team opportunities have been limited this campaign with just two starts from 23 appearances across all competitions (transfermarkt).

The forward mainly plays on the wing but has also slotted in more centrally and could provide some further depth within the ranks with Tottenham on course to quality for European football next season with the Europa League looking more likely.

Tottenham remain interested in Samuel Iling-Junior

It is reported that the former Chelsea academy graduate is ‘closer to farewell’ in the upcoming transfer window and a number of clubs have registered their interest.

Along with Tottenham and Brighton, other Serie A sides are also keen on his services which include Atalanta and Bologna.

Juventus are prepared to sanction his departure and are asking for €15m to give the transfer the green light.

While Iling-Junior has the added attraction of qualifying as a homegrown player due to his previous time at Chelsea, he would not improve the Tottenham first XI.

If Tottenham are to look to push on and finally compete with the likes of Arsenal and Manchester City, genuine quality who can walk into Ange Postecoglou‘s side is what is required this summer.
