Report: Spurs ‘resigned to losing out’ on attacker after interest from PL rivals

The Daily Star have claimed that Tottenham Hotspur are interested in Fulham winger Fabio Carvalho but are ‘resigned to losing out’ on the teenager amidst competition from Manchester United and Liverpool.

Carvalho has won plenty of admirers after establishing himself as a regular in Fulham’s starting eleven this season, with the teenager’s consistent displays being a key factor behind the Cottagers’ push for promotion.

The winger has scored eight times and picked up five assists across all competitions so far this season for Marco Silva’s side (Transfermarkt).

The 19-year-old was heavily linked with a move to Liverpool in the January transfer window, with the Reds thought to have made a £5m offer for the youngster, whose contract at Craven Cottage runs out in the summer (Sky Sports’ Vinny O’Connor).

The Daily Star have now revealed that several Premier League clubs have entered the race to snap up Carvalho in the summer after Jurgen Klopp’s side failed to complete a deal last month.

Spurs, Arsenal and West Ham are thought to be keeping an eye on the Fulham man but it is asserted that the three clubs from the capital are resigned to losing out on the player since Man Utd and Liverpool are at the front of the queue to snap him up.

Conte will certainly look to add to his forward line in the summer and Carvalho fits the profile of signings Spurs tend to go for, given the youngster’s age and high ceiling.

There will be plenty of competition for the teenager’s signature if he is available on a free transfer. Tottenham’s decision on whether or not to move for the Fulham man could also depend on Conte’s plans for Bryan Gil.
