Report: Spurs said to be huge admirers of Man Utd centre-forward target

According to reports in the Italian press, Tottenham Hotspur are said to be big admirers of Juventus forward Mario Mandzukic.

The experienced forward is yet to make a single appearance for Maurizio Sarri’s side this campaign and continues to be linked with a move away from Turin with Manchester United said to be interested in signing him in January.

Corriere dello Sport (as relayed by Sports Witness) have reported that Juventus’ director of football, Fabio Paratici has already travelled to London to hold talks with Manchester United regarding Mandzukic.

However, Calcio Mercato now report that the deal is far from agreed with the Red Devils yet to meet Juve’s valuation of the forward. The report also claims that Tottenham and West Ham both remain admirers of the Croatian international and could hijack the deal.

It is suggested that the 33-year-old is keen to move to the Premier League after having rejected offers from China and Qatar already.

Spurs Web Opinion

We certainly could do with one more striker in the squad who can serve as a plan B when things aren’t going our way. Llorente performed the role admirably last season and we haven’t really replaced him. However, at 33 years of age, Madzukic wouldn’t be the right option for the club. Spurs should look to bring in a young centre forward with potential who can learn from Harry Kane.
