Report: Spurs scout in attendance to watch midfielder who is out of contract this summer

According to a report by the Turkish website, Haber7 Tottenham Hotspur were present at Fenerbahce’s league game against Antalyaspor last Friday to watch in-form midfielder Ozan Tufan in action.

Turfan returned to Fenerbahce this summer after spending the second half of last season on loan at Alanyaspor and has made a fantastic start to the campaign.

Turfan’s performances are said to have caught the eye of Mauricio Pochettino and Spurs will continue to monitor his development ahead of the January transfer window, where they could consider an approach for the 24-year-old.

Tottenham are reportedly impressed by the Turkish international’s versatility after already featuring in midfield, right-wing and right-back this season.

Tufan’s contract with Fenerbahce will run out at the end of the season and the Turkish giants are reportedly in a hurry to tie him down to a new deal.

If the midfielder does not sign an extension before January, he will be free to talk to overseas clubs.

Spurs Web Opinion

While I have seen very little of Ozan Tufan, his record so far is certainly nothing special particularly given that he is not too young at 24. However, we know that Pochettino loves versatile players who are capable of playing multiple roles, as that allows him to seamlessly change systems during games.
