Report: Spurs scouts asking Levy to snap up youngster before rival clubs

Football Insider have revealed that Tottenham’s scouts have urged the club to start working on a deal to sign Bristol City youngster Alex Scott amidst fears that other Premier League clubs could swoop for the teenager.

Scott has started all but one Championship fixtures for Bristol so far this season (Transfermarkt) and the 19-year-old has won many admirers thanks to his mature displays in the middle of the park.

Spurs were one of several Premier League who reportedly showed an interest in the midfielder in January, along with the likes of  Bournemouth, Wolves, Leicester, Leeds and Brighton (Ben Jacobs).

Football Insider reported a few days ago that Tottenham’s scouts were at Ashton Gate Stadium to watch Scott against Norwich City.

The same publication has now revealed that the scouts from the North London club have been left extremely impressed by the England Under-20 international.

It is alleged that Spurs scouts are compiling a dossier on the midfielder and have informed the club’s hierarchy to lay the groundwork for a deal before the likes of Everton and Leicester City swoop for the Bristol starlet.

I wonder if Scott would be reluctant to join a big club like Spurs and prefer to move to side like Everton where he is more likely to get regular first-team opportunities.

Djed Spence’s struggle to get game time at Tottenham since his move from the Championship, might also enter the 19-year-old’s consideration.
