Over the last few weeks, reports from Italy have indicated that Spurs are expected to face competition from Juventus and Roma for the midfielder (Gazzetta dello Sport) while CM.it have suggested that Inter Milan are also considering making an offer for the player.

CalcioMeracto have now reported that scouts from Spurs have travelled to Lecce ‘several times’ this season to run the rule over Hjulmand.

Apart from Juve and Roma, the report also names Borussia Dortmund as contenders for the midfielder’s signature, with representatives from the Bundesliga club also having travelled to Italy this season to watch the player in action.

The publication adds that Lecce would be willing to cash in on Hjulmand for around €15m (£13.2m) in the summer.

Spurs Web Opinion

£13m is quite a modest price for a player who is arguably been one of the best midfield pivots in Italian football this season.

However, that is also one area of the pitch where Tottenham are pretty well stocked with options.
