Report: Spurs scouts impressed by winger who ‘plays just like Salah’

If reports are to be believed, Tottenham Hotspur are set to invest significantly in their squad in the summer after two windows of complete inactivity.

While centre midfield and full back are likely to be the priority positions, Spurs also wish to strengthen their attack, particularly with Christian Eriksen’s future at the club looking far from certain.

Among the players linked with the club recently is Hull City wide man Jarrod Bowen. The 21-year-old has had a fantastic season in the Championship having scored 21 goals and assisted four others for the Tigers so far this campaign.

The youngster is said to be attracting the interest of several top-flight clubs with Spurs among the teams said to be monitoring his performances this season.

According to a report in Football Insider, Tottenham’s scouts have been extremely impressed with Bowen’s performances this season, and feel that he could be Tottenham’s answer to Mohamed Salah.

The report claims that a Spurs recruitment source told Football Insider, “His playing style is just like [Mohamed] Salah”, a Spurs recruitment source told Football Insider.

“He is a left-footed winger who plays on the right flank and loves cutting inside and running at defenders.

“Like Salah, he’s quite small but really strong and difficult to get off the ball. You can’t push him around. He will run all day, he tracks back, works hard and comes alive with the ball at his feet.

“He is becoming really clinical in front of goal and has been scoring for fun, even though Championship clubs are doubling up on him and trying to stop him cutting on to his left foot.

“He has learned his trade in the Championship and is ready to step up to the Premier League. Scouts are watching him closely and lots of clubs are interested.”

If these quotes are authentic then it looks like Hull City can certainly expect a bid for Spurs for their star man in the summer.
