Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly entered the race to sign Amiens striker Serhou Guirassy when the transfer reopens in the summer.
Daily Mail claim that French sources say Tottenham sent scouts to run the rule over Guirassy when Amiens took on Paris Saint-Germain last weekend.
The 23-year-old striker stole the show as he constantly troubled the PSG backline. He netted a brace, including a late equaliser, as the game ended in a 4-4 draw.
The two strikes took his tally for the season in Ligue 1 to eight goals so far (transfermarkt).
Tottenham scout Brian Carey was reportedly in the stands at the Stade de la Licorne on Saturday and he is said to have been suitably convinced by Guirassy’s display.
The pacey striker completed a permanent move to Amiens from Cologne last summer after spending the second half of last season on loan at the Ligue 1 club.
The report asserts the Amiens are likely to sell Guirassy in the summer for a fee of around £18 million.
Leicester City, Aston Villa and Celtic are also said to be keeping a close eye on the young Frenchman.
Spurs Web Opinion
After having missed out on a striker in January, I believe finding a back up to Harry Kane should be one of our priorities to address when the transfer window reopens. I expect us to sign a young striker who would be content with a bit-part role rather than an experienced centre forward.
