Report: Spurs scouts were in attendance at Serie A match on Monday

According to Il Secolo XIX (as relayed by The Sun), scouts from Tottenham Hotspur were in attendance to watch Spezia take on Fiorentina on Monday.

Fabio Paratici and Antonio Conte are both well-versed with Italian football and it did not come as a surprise when Spurs secured two talents from Serie A in the form of Rodrigo Bentancur and Dejan Kulusevski during the January transfer window.

It looks like the North London club could look to raid the Italian market again in the summer, with Il Secolo XIX revealing that scouts from the club were at the Stadio Alberto Picco on Monday.

The report states that it was unclear which players Spurs were running their rule over as Fiorentina emerged 2-1 winners through goals from Krzysztof Piatek and Sofyan Amrabat.

Spurs were heavily liked with Amrabat in January before they made a move for Bentancur, with some sources even reporting at the time that Antonio Conte’s men had reached an agreement with Fiorentina for the 25-year-old’s transfer (Corriere Fiorentino via Sport Witness).

Spurs Web Opinion

Given that Amrabat was reported to be of interest to Tottenham in January, it is conceivable that the club might reignite their interest in the Moroccan in the summer. I would not be surprised if there is a midfield clear-out at Spurs in January, with both Hojbjerg and Winks leaving.
