Report: Spurs see loan offer for striker with £46.3m option to buy rejected

According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Tottenham Hotspur have had a loan offer for Andrea Belotti with an option to buy rejected by Torino.

After sealing the signings of Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Joe Hart and Matt Doherty, a striker is now said to be the next priority for the club this transfer window (Football.London)

A number of names have been mentioned as potential targets in recent weeks, with Belotti now emerging as the latest target.

The 26-year-old has been one of the most prolific number nines in the Serie A over the past five seasons and has also established himself as a regular in the Italian national side.

Di Marzio revealed that Spurs made a loan offer with an option to buy the striker permanently for €50million (£46.3 million) next season but that was rejected by Torino.

The report claims that Belotti is happy to stay at the club and lead their front line next season but it said that Torino are willing to let him leave.

However, they will allegedly only consider permanent offers and are not willing to let the striker leave on loan.

Spurs Web Opinion

If we manage to somehow pull off a deal for Belotti, that would be a sensational coup. The 26-year-old has all the attributes that one would expect of a typical Jose centre-forward and he could potentially chip in with around 15 goals next season if we snap him up. However, the fact that we made a loan offer suggests we either do not have the funds to complete a deal this summer or that we believe better options might be available in a years time.
