The report states that Spurs aspire to maintain their position at the top of the Premier League table and are prepared to make some ‘significant moves’ in January to increase their chances of doing so.

Tottenham like the look of Fabian Ruiz from PSG

The outlet states that even though the 27-year-old’s contract at PSG runs until 2027, he could push to leave in January in search of regular game time, having struggled to get a place in the starting eleven under Luis Enrique this season.

Fichajes assert that Ruiz’s versatility and experience appeal to Tottenham, who see the central midfielder as the ‘ideal’ signing to boost their title aspirations.

Finally, the publication adds that the possibility of seeing the Spaniard in a Spurs shirt is a story that ‘will continue to develop’ ahead of the January window.

With Hojbjerg looking likely to leave in January, Tottenham would be in the market for a centre-midfielder in January. Ruiz might fit the bill as a squad player, given his experience while his quality on the ball would make him a natural fit for Postecoglou’s system.
