Tottenham Hotspur may soon find themselves in the market for a new playmaker, as Christian Eriksen has revealed that he is keen to move onto bigger things this summer (Ekstra Bladet).

It will be near impossible to replace the talent and experience that the Great Dane brings to the Spurs side, especially after six years at the club.

However, one man Tottenham are reportedly interested in is Lyon’s Nabil Fekir, after he scored 12 and set up nine in 39 games this season.

L’Equipe have now revealed that few clubs are queuing up for the forward, as talks over a new contract have been abandoned by Lyon.

Spurs are apparently interested in the player, especially if Eriksen leaves, but they have yet to make a formal approach.

Fekir has only got a year left on his current contract, and L’Equipe believe he could move for below the original 50 million Euro price tag.

Spurs Web Opinion:

There are others I would choose above him, but Fekir is worth monitoring, in case he does become available at a bargain price. However, Lyon are surely unlikely to sell Ndombele and Fekir to Spurs in one window, and I would much rather purchase the former.

  1. Near impossible to replace the Dane? What a load of bollocks. He’s certainly no Hoddle, Gascogne, Modric or Rafael VdV. Sure Eriksen is a very good player but he is definitely replaceable. If he wants to go, so be it. Goodbye and farewell.9

  2. Fekir is a very high quality player and would walk into most international sides. I would take anything north of £50m for Eriksen who mentally left Spurs about a year ago. Would be delighted to see Fekir come in instead

  3. I’d be gutted if spurs sign Fekir. I was watching him for 2 years before we (Liverpool) almost signed him. He’s a lot better than yous think. His head has been battered this season due to the failed move so don’t go on this season’s stats even tho, still very good. Look at the past 2 seasons before. He was the best AM in Europe in almost every dept. I’ve always liked you Spuds so if we didn’t sign him then I’d love to see him in the prem and with yous above anyone else. The man is a pure genius. Trust me.
