Report: Spurs senior scout sent to check up on highly-rated Championship midfielder

Tottenham Hotspur recently sent senior scout Peter Braund to cast his eye over Bristol City midfielder Alex Scott, according to London World.

The 18-year-old is also said to be on the radar of fellow Premier League clubs Everton and West Ham United.

Braund has also watched the Guernsey-born attacking midfielder in action for England 19’s when they beat their Swedish counterparts in November. On that evening in Stockholm Scott impressed providing two assists, one of which was to Spurs forward Dane Scarlett.

Scott has made 29 appearances inside the Championship, scoring three and assisting a further two more (transfermarkt).

The teenager has been dubbed as The Guernsey Jack Grealish due to his style of play in the final third of the pitch.

Scott, who can also play as a wing-back, right and central midfielder is under contract at Ashton Gate until 2025.

Tottenham famously missed out on signing the actual Jack Grealish back in 2018 and have recently began planning to overhaul their scouting infrastructure, including hiring new analysts with the goal of creating one of the best scouting networks in Europe (Football.London).

Scott has done well at Bristol City this season but is certainly not ready to walk into our starting eleven, a loan spell back at the Robins would be the best option for his development if he was to sign on the dotted line
