Report: Spurs sent scouts to watch 17-year-old German starlet recently

90 min have claimed that Tottenham Hotspur hold an interest in Borussia Dortmund starlet Youssoufa Moukoko ahead of the January transfer window.

Moukoko, who came through Dortmund’s academy setup, made his senior debut for the club in the 2020-21 season, aged just 16, and he is now having a breakthrough campaign in the Bundesliga.

The teenager has already found the back of the net six times and provided another four assists in 14 league appearances so far this season (Transfermarkt).

90 min assert that Spurs are on the lookout for a forward ahead of January and Moukoko is one of the names on the club’s radar.

The North London club allegedly sent scouts to watch the Germany Under-21 international in action in Dortmund’s away clash at Borussia Monchengladbach last Friday, with the teenager playing all 90 minutes as Gladbach emerged 4-2 winners.

The report asserts that Moukoko, whose current contract at Dortmund runs until 2023, is also of interest to several other top clubs in Europe, including Real Madrid and Barcelona.

This transfer rumour has Fabio Paratici’s fingerprints written all over it. Moukoko is undoubtedly one of the best emerging talents in German football and I would not be surprised if the Spurs managing director is considering a deal like the Pape Sarr and Destiny Udogie ones, where the forward is signed and loaned back to a Bundesliga club.
