Report: Spurs sent scouts to watch 25-year-old centre-back on Sunday

Portuguese journalist Pedro Sepulveda has revealed that Tottenham sent scouts to Turkey to watch Fenerbahce centre-back Kim Min-jae in action on Sunday.

Spurs were heavily linked with Kim during the summer of 2020, with multiple sources (SPOTV News and 90 min) reporting at the time that the North London club were trying to snap him up from Beijing Guoan.

The central defender left the Chinese club to join Fenerbahce last summer and is enjoying an impressive debut season in Turkish football.

Turkish outlet Fotospor reported ahead of the January transfer window that Spurs have been impressed with the 25-year-old’s performances for the Super Lig giants.

Sepulveda has now taken to social media to reveal that scouts from Tottenham were in attendance to run the rule over Kim as Fenerbahce played out a 1-1 draw with Trabzonspor at home.

However, the journalist revealed that it was not just Spurs who showed interest in the South Korean international, with scouts from Arsenal, Chelsea, Juventus and Porto also in attendance on Sunday.

He further added that Porto boss Sergio Conceicao is looking at Kim as a potential replacement for Chancel Mbemba, who is expected to leave the Portuguese club in the summer.

Spurs Web Opinion

I am sure that Fabio Paratici has a large network of scouts who are likely keeping an eye on several players around Europe. So, the fact that representatives from Tottenham were present at the Sukru Saracoglu Stadium on Sunday does not necessarily mean that the North London club are likely to make an offer for Kim in the summer.
