Tottenham Hotspur sent scouts over to watch Porto vs Casa Pia at the weekend, a match in which reported target Diogo Costa started (A Bola 15/05/23 via SportWitness).
The newspaper claim that Spurs were not alone in their scouting mission, with many clubs heading to Portugal to watch the 2-1 victory.
Tottenham were reportedly ‘gathering information’ on some possible targets for the summer, despite the fact Daniel Levy has yet to hire a Sporting Director or a new manager.
There was one player on the pitch who has been regularly linked with Tottenham over recent weeks and months in the form of goalkeeper Diogo Costa, and he impressed on the day despite losing his clean sheet.
90Min reported recently that Costa is on the shortlist of names who could replace Hugo Lloris as Tottenham’s number one this summer.
SportWitness suggest that other standout names Spurs may have been impressed with could include Matheus Uribe, Galeno, Gabriel Veron and Danny Namaso.
Spurs Web Opinion:
If I had to guess which keeper Spurs will move for this summer, I have to say David Raya from Brentford. I think around £40m could get that deal done. They may also be tempted by Robert Sanchez from Brighton seeing as he is no longer the number one choice there.
