Report: Spurs set asking price for Lo Celso – Potential Villarreal swap deal mentioned

According to Football Insider, Tottenham Hotspur could explore a swap deal with Villarreal involving Giovani Lo Celso and Pau Torres.

Lo Celso has impressed for the Yellow Submarine since joining the club on loan in January, with the Argentine helping Unai Emery’s side reach the semifinals of the Champions League this week at Bayern Munich’s expense.

There is no option to buy included in the loan deal but Football Insider have claimed the La Liga club have indicated to Spurs that they are ready to begin negotiations to snap up the midfielder permanently.

It is alleged that Tottenham are set to open talks with Villarreal for Lo Celso’s sale, with the North Londoners valuing the midfielder at around £30m.

The report adds that Fabio Paratici could explore part-exchange and swap deals, with Torres a target for the Lilywhites.

It is asserted that Antonio Conte’s men are expected to reignite their interest in the Spanish centre-back after failing to snap him up last summer.

Torres does not have much experience playing in a back three and some might have question marks over whether the Spaniard can cope with the physicality of the Premier League.

However, I am a huge fan of the 25-year-old and I believe it will be a major coup if we can get him as part of the deal to take Lo Celso to El Madrigal, particularly given that the Argentine does not seem to be in Conte’s plans.
