Report: Spurs set for ‘new assault’ for star after missing out last summer

According to the latest reports from Italy, Tottenham are now attempting a fresh assault to sign Milan Skriniar but the centre-back wants to stay at Inter Milan.

Fabio Paratici seems to be prioritising Tottenham’s frailties at centre-back this summer, with reports over recent days indicating that the North London club have made considerable progress in their negotiations for Sevilla’s Jules Kounde and Bologna’s Takehiro Tomiyasu.

Skrinair, who was heavily linked with a move to Tottenham last summer, is another central defender rumoured to be on Paratici’s radar.

The latest updates emerging from the Italian press suggest that the North London club are expected to make a huge effort for the Slovak international again this summer.

Calciomercato now claim that Paratici tried to take Skriniar to Juventus 12 months ago and is ready to make a ‘new assault’ for the 27-year-old this summer.

However, it is asserted that the central defender has no intention of leaving San Siro.

TuttoMercatoWeb’s Marco Conterio has also backed up Tottenham’s interest in Skriniar, revealing that the Lilywhites are ‘on the attack’ for the Inter star.

The journalist even asserts that Spurs have already made an offer for the experienced defender.

One would hope that we have learned from the mistake we made last summer of waiting until the last minute to get the Skriniar deal over the line, only for it to break down and settle for Joe Rodon instead. If the Slovak is not keen on a move to Spurs, the club should move on to other targets.
