Report: Spurs set to add another international destination as part of pre-season plans

The Athletic have revealed that Tottenham Hotspur are planning to visit Israel as part of their pre-season preparations ahead of the 2022/23 campaign.

Tottenham confirmed last month that the team will travel to South Korea in July for pre-season tour.

The club revealed that they will play two exhibition matches in the country as part of the Coupang Play Series, with Football Asian later confirming that the Lilywhites are set to take on K League All-Stars before facing off against Mallorca.

The Athletic have now revealed that the North London club could add another destination to their pre-season plans.

The report claims that Antonio Conte’s men could visit Israel following their trip to South Korea, which is expected to take place in early July.

It is explained that the trip to the Middle East destination is yet to be confirmed and factors like player availability and international commitments would need to be assessed before it is given the green light.

Should it go ahead, it is expected to be a short stay in Israel for Spurs, with the club potentially playing just one game in the country or a stint of around seven days which would see the north Londoners train and also take part in a fixture.

Spurs Web Opinion

Given that Spurs have not been able to go on a pre-season tour since 2019 due to the pandemic, I would expect the club to maximise the calendar this summer by visiting more than one country to help increase the awareness of the club and to capitalise on the ever-growing revenues associated with overseas fanbases.
