Report: Spurs set to ‘almost automatically’ replace Eriksen with this ‘influential’ star

Tottenham Hotspur may soon need a long-term replacement for Christian Eriksen, as the Great Dane is currently set to leave the club in the next year.

Eriksen’s contract is up in the summer, meaning he can leave on a free, perhaps after signing a pre-contract deal with any non-English club from January onwards.

However, according to A Bola, Spurs are currently waiting for Real Madrid to make a move for the midfielder, presumably in the winter window, before automatically replacing him.

The Lilywhites are said to still be ‘attentive to everything’ Bruno Fernandes does for Sporting Lisbon this season after their attempts to purchase him in the summer.

The media outlet call Fernandes that ‘most influential player in the league’ and state that Sporting would be open to a January sale if the price is right.

Eriksen has been in pretty dismal form for Tottenham so far this season, so could this deal work out for all parties?
