Tottenham have the option to extend Conte’s current contract by a further twelve months, but will also looking to test the water on whether he would be prepared to commit to a longer duration.

Talks are pencilled in for next month when the World Cup takes place which is considered to be an ideal time to discuss his future.

Conte is said to be looking for reassurances that he will continue to be backed in the transfer market and will emphasise the current gap between his side and Manchester City as proof that work still need to be done when he does sit down with the club.

Conte holds all of the cards in the planned talks, granted, the club have the option of an extension but they will know fully well that they need to continue to financially back the Italian to appease not only the manager, but also the fanbase.
