Report: Spurs set to face ‘concrete’ PL competition for Jean-Clair Todibo

Journalist Rudy Galetti has said that Manchester United are now ready to substantiate their interest in Tottenham target Jean-Clair Todibo.

As we edge closer to the beginning of the transfer window, it seems like Tottenham have already begun work on securing a centre-back.

It emerged last week that the Lilywhites have contacted Nice as well as Todibo’s  representatives regarding a transfer, with Spurs allegedly wanting to conclude the deals swiftly (Fabrizio Romano – YouTube).

However, it subsequently emerged a few days ago that Spurs are expected to face a challenge from Man Utd for the Frenchman, who is allegedly near the top of Erik Ten Hag’s wishlist (The Metro).

United set to make advances on Todibo

Galetti has now also said that the Todibo is the top centre-back target for the Manchester club in January.

The journalist claimed that Nice would only let their star man leave mid-season for a fee of around €50m-€60m (£43.5m-£52.2m).

The Italian reporter added that the Red Devils are now ready to push ahead with a ‘concrete move’ for the France international.

Spurs Web Opinion

If the choice for Todibo is between Spurs and Man Utd, there is a decent chance that he would be persuaded to pick us, given the excitement sorrounding the new project in North London.

Postecoglou would fancy his chances of convincing the Frenchman that his development would be best served at Tottenham but having said that, the pull of Man Utd remains huge despite the club’s struggles over the last few years.
