Report: Spurs set to lose out on Premier League midfielder to Leicester City

Tottenham are set to miss out on reported target, Adam Lallana this summer with the midfielder expected to sign for former Liverpool boss, Brendan Rodgers.

The Leicester City manager has reportedly opened talks with Lallana and is confident he can convince the midfielder to join the Foxes, according to Football Insider.

Tottenham had previously been linked with the former Southampton man, who may be available on a free deal come the summer (Mirror).

Lallana is out of contract with Liverpool at the end of this season after signing a short-term extension and it seems unlikely that the Reds will offer the 32-year-old a new deal.

The report also suggests that Lallana has received interest from Arsenal, West Ham, and Burnley but the connection with Rodgers is likely to seal the deal.

Lallana has made 15 appearances for Liverpool in the Premier League this season where he has netted on one occasion (Transfermarkt).

It would be a very uncharacteristic move for the Spurs-of-late, often focusing on signing young players with bags of potential. There is no doubt that Lallana has shown he can do a job, but at the age of 32 and the options Spurs have in his position, it is not a move which would make much sense.
