Report: Spurs set to make £20million offer for winger

Tottenham Hotspur are set to make a £20million bid for Leeds United winger Jack Clarke.

The Independent are reporting that the Elland Road outfit have received several enquiries for the 18-year-old but are yet to receive a concrete offer.

Leeds failed in their bid to return to the Premier League after losing to Derby County in the semi final of the Championship play-offs.

Clarke started just four Championship games last season but made a further twenty appearances from the bench and found the back of the net on two occasions while also providing two assists.

His ability to dribble at pace and cause defences issues out wide has certainly caught the eye during his debut season in first team football.

Tottenham are lacking raw talent in wide positions. Erik Lamela has once again had a disappointing season through a lack of form and injury while the likes of Georges-Kevin Nkoudou are no doubt surplus to requirements in North London.

Clarke would certainly fit Tottenham’s traditional criteria of signing up and coming English talent and would also qualify as an home grown player given the fact he has been on the books at Leeds for at least three years.
