Report: Spurs set to miss out on Inter Milan midfielder to German giants

Spurs are expected to lose out on rumoured target Ivan Perisic to Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich, according to CalcioMercato.

The Croatian is currently on loan at the German giants from Inter Milan and it is expected his stay at Munich will be made permanent this summer.

Despite a late attempt from Spurs to persuade the 31-year-old to N17, it is believed he will hope to stay at the club where he has recently won the Bundesliga title.

Fussball Transfers recently claimed that Bayern were not willing to pay the asking price to make the loan permanent, however reports from Italy now suggest a deal is all but done.

Perisic has mainly been used as an impact substitute for Bayern this season with only a third of his appearances coming in the starting eleven (Transfermarkt).

However, in his 21 Bundesliga appearances, the Croatian has netted on four occasions and claimed five assists.

Perisic has struggled to break into the starting XI at Bayern, however, he has done enough to earn himself a Bundesliga medal and one foot in the Champions League quarter-finals. He would bring a wealth of experience to Spurs but it’s not a signing which I feel we necessarily need.
