Report: Spurs set to move for striker after Nuno gives green light

Football.London have claimed that Tottenham Hotspur could be set to make Dusan Vlahovic their first signing of the summer after Nuno Espirito Santo gave the green light for the striker to be pursued.

Vlahovic’s name has risen to prominence on the back of his impressive performances for La Viola last season, with the striker netting 21 goals in Serie A.

Previous reports from Italy have indicated that Tottenham’s new managing director of football, Fabio Paratici, has identified the Serbian international as a potential replacement for Harry Kane.

Serbian publication Sport Klub reported earlier this week that while the 21-year-old was also attracting interest from Atletico Madrid, AC Milan and Juventus, Spurs were at the front of the queue for his signature.

Football.London have now backed the North London club to push ahead with an offer for Vlahovic after Nuno was confirmed as the club’s head coach on Wednesday.

The report explains that both Paratici and Nuno are in favour of a move for the Fiorentina star, who is said to be valued at £36m.

I rate Vlahovic very highly and would be over the moon if we manage to get him. However, if he is the first player we bring in through the door this summer, that could be the clearest sign yet that Kane is on his way out. I cannot see Spurs spending £30- £40m on a striker just to serve as the 27-year-old’s understudy.
