Report: Spurs set to rekindle their interest in Wilfried Zaha

Tottenham Hotspur are once again being linked with a move for Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha.

The Mirror report that Mauricio Pochettino is still keen to bring the 26-year-old to North London and is on his transfer shopping list ahead of the new campaign.

Zaha revealed in April that he he wants to leave Crystal Palace in search of Champions League football and wants to play at the highest level and compete for trophies (Daily Mail).

Tottenham would be able to offer Zaha the platform to show his talents to play in the presitigous European competition next season.

However, one sticking point could be Palace’s reported £100m valuation of the Ivory Coast international who only signed a new contract until 2023 last year (Telegraph).

Opinion

Zaha would certainly help to add an extra dimension to Tottenham’s attacking options with his pace and trickery out wide which is something that Erik Lamela can only dream of delivering.

If Palace are able to hold on to Aaron Wan-Bissaka it could certainly increase the chances of Zaha being allowed to leave as it would be somewhat a surprise if Steve Parish allowed two of his key players to depart in the same transfer window.
