Report: Spurs set to sell two first team right backs this summer

Tottenham Hotspur enjoyed a largely successful season last time out, securing a top four spot, Champions League next season, and their first ever appearance in the CL Final.

However, Pochettino will surely be unhappy with the number of games lost and goals conceded last campaign.

Spurs lost 13 League games and conceded 39 goals across the season, with one position proving to be a problem area.

Kieran Trippier failed to reach anything close to the form he showed at the World Cup in Russia last summer, with inconsistent and below par defensive performances.

Serge Aurier has also proved to be defensively naive and also struggled with injury problems last season.

Sky Sports now report that Spurs will look to sell both of their first team right backs this summer, freeing up a starting position for someone next year.

This could open the door for Kyle Walker-Peters, a 22-year-old academy prospect who has waited patiently for consistent playing time at his boyhood club.

Spurs Web Opinion:

Tottenham should sell both Trippier and Aurier for around £25m each, if that is what it takes to land Aaron Wan-Bissaka from Crystal Palace. I would sell the current duo, put a £50m-£60m bid on Wan Bissaka, promote Walker-Peters to second choice, and have Juan Foyth as a back-up.
