According to a report from Calciomercato, Tottenham Hotspur are in talks with Inter Milan over swapping Erik Lamela for Ivan Perisic this summer.

Perisic’s links to Spurs are not all that surprising considering the fact that Mourinho has revealed his admiration for the Croatian international in the past.

Although Spurs were said to be interested in snapping up the winger, it was previously claimed that completing a permanent transfer to Bayern Munich was his preference on the back of his successful loan spell with the Bavarian giants this season (FC Inter News).

Calciomercato claim that the door has been closed on the possibility of the 31-year-old staying put at Inter and the club are expected to move him on this summer.

With no approach from Bayern forthcoming, it is claimed that Spurs could instead bring the experienced wide man to North London this summer.

Tottenham are said to have begun talks with Inter for Perisic, with the Nerazzurri apparently interested in a direct swap deal that would allow them to sign Lamela.

As long as Perisic is ready to accept a bit-part role, I believe he can be a decent addition to the squad. However, I am a fan of Lamela and he showed after the lockdown that he can be an excellent impact substitute to bring on when he stays fit. If the five substitutions rule is going to remain in place for next season, I would like to see us hold on to Lamela.
