Report: Spurs set transfer valuation in order to give defender his wish to leave the club

Tottenham Hotspur are prepared to sanction the exit of Toby Alderweireld this summer, but only if a club meets the asking price.

The Sun claim that Tottenham value the 32-year-old at around £25million with the player wanting to move to his homeland Belgium or a return to Holland.

Alderweireld has two years left to run on his current contract in North London and earns £100,000-a-week but will not be given his blessing if a potential suitor cannot stump up the money.

Royal Antwerp, Club Brugge, PSV Eindhoven and Ajax are all keen to land him but it is thought that only the Dutch pair could potentially afford to land him.

The Athletic previously revealed that Alderweireld has always been keen on a move to his hometown club of Antwerp at some point in his career, having left as a 15-year-old to join Ajax.

A £25million fee for a 32-year-old will certainly limit the possible options for Alderweireld to choose from if he is to get his exit, as always, Daniel Levy is likely to demand that any departure will be on his terms.
