Report: Spurs should bid for this Real Madrid 20-year-old playmaker

Tottenham Hotspur have not signed a new player in almost exactly 16 months, with Lucas Moura being the last to join way back in January 2018.

However, Spurs are expected to spend big this summer, with some reports suggesting that Pochettino will be given a £100m war chest (Sun).

A report from HITC now claims that Spurs should leap at the chance to snap up Real Madrid youngster Martin Odegaard.

The starlet moved to Madrid back in 2015, but has struggled for senior game time ever since, spending three separate spells out on loan.

The Daily Mail claim the player is available on loan again this summer, while Marca say he could be purchased for £17m.

With Christian Eriksen potentially on his way to Real Madrid (Express), could Tottenham include the young attacking midfielder as part of the deal, even if it is just on loan with an option to buy?

Spurs Web Opinion:

I would be very open to taking Odegaard on loan next season, as long as Real Madrid are paying half of his wages. He has always been a highly rated youngster, and it would give Pochettino a chance to take a closer look at him before deciding whether to bid. However, I would by no means name him as my Eriksen replacement.
