Report: Spurs star asks his agent to ‘get a deal done’ with Serie A club this summer

According to Corriere Dello Sport (as relayed by Sport Witness), AC Milan are ready to re-open negotiations with Tottenham Hotspur for Serge Aurier, with the right-back said to be keen on sealing a move to Italy.

Reports over the past few days have claimed that Milan and Spurs have been unable to agree on a fee for the Ivory Coast international’s signature (Evening Standard).

However, Corriere Dello Sport report that the Italian giants remain keen on sealing a deal for Aurier, who they have identified as the ideal option to upgrade at right-back.

The report asserts that Aurier is also keen to quit North London for Milan and has told his agent to get the deal done.

It is suggested that the Rossoneri are hopeful that they can snatch the right-back for less than the £20million being demanded by Spurs but it is said that it will not be easy for them to get the Lilywhites to lower their valuation.

While the report reveals that Milan have also identified other alternatives to Aurier, it is said that bringing the Spurs defender to the San Siro remains their priority.

Spurs Web Opinion

Given that Milan were also close to completing a deal for Aurier last summer and the fact that there has been no news on a new contract for the right-back, suggests that this deal is likely. I suspect we will eventually lower our valuation and end up accepting around £15m-£18m for the 27-year-old, which will be a good deal for us as long as we replace him sufficiently.
